Why did the USA have to blow the Gold Medal Hockey Game?

I'm a die hard american and I have to ask, Why did the Americans have to blow a chance at a Gold medal? Who here thinks the USA blew it??? I bet if Sidney Crosby was'nt on team Canada we the US would of had a chance who agrees.
