Anytips on how to freestyle or rap?

growing up in detroit and living in atlanta now im confident i can rap n freestyle...jus nvr took it serious but love to listen and watch how ppl can flow..i wanna get my life story goin with sumthing and i have alot of strong words i could rap and make music about..im white italian whatever but anybody can do it jus gotta man up..soo anytips on how to do it? confidence..sound good...all that stuff?
