Are gays the new black people?

I constantly hear gays say that their gay marriage issue that they are fighting for is the same as the civil rights movement blacks fought in the 50s and 60s. They say they are being discriminated against just like black people were. They are also starting to become more aggressive and more violent, and I've heard blacks say that they need to confront Christians just as the Black Panthers and Malcolm X wanted to do with white people in the 60s. So, are gays the new generation of black people? Is this a repeat of the violence and riots that we saw during the 60s?
