Nikon d80 flash won't work?

We own a nikon d80 an the flash won't go off. It fell while on the tripod. It still takes, but it won't flash. It maks a click sound when I auto focus and it comes from there. Could the bulb have broke? Im always so careful with it while my family leaves it lay out. However I get blamed for being careless anytime something goes wrong. They will kill me if it's brokenand I need this for my college major. Help
