I just found out I have Chron's Disease, does this mean I'm going to die young?

The docs so far have told me this is serious but didn't say exactly how or why, or what I'm supposed to do about it. Except for the extremely painful gas, and occasional painful flare ups, it's not that bothersome. As long as I avoid certain things like soda pop and NSAID pain relievers I don't have many problems. So what's the big deal? Am I going to die young? I wish they would give me some idea what I'm up against.
